Spending a few days unpicking old half finished and badly made projects...

Gathering the pieces together for a giant bed spread I became overwhelmed with the amount of half finished projects.
So taking a few days to unpick, wind wool and sort out the craft room.

Then I can reassess and start the giant bed spread.

Next week I will do the patterns that have been asked for and finish the month off
all tidy and ready to start again.....lol
Well that's the plan, I have got to do something the craft room looks like a hurricane hit it.
and why keep it all if it isn't working has no real use and is cluttering up the room?
I won't be able to climb into my dent soon if I don't do something lol

So many stars and flowers what was I thinking of?

Always love to wind wool, so I am going to have a very relaxing time?

Have a great day everyone

If I could have one wish, make my hands work faster than my imagination....
INSPIRATION...
It all started when I lay out the leaves I was making to go with the flowers,
holes and gaps aren't always round!
A thought occurred...as I mixed and matched...

what greens had I in the stash?....
by 4 this morning I have a piece of Leafy crochet and a poem to go with it too...
and another design is emerging?
Or is it to be added to the giant bedspread....really must try and lay it all out today.

FLOWERS..
Glad you all liked the flowers, all different, Ruth asked if I had a pattern?
YES but which one would you like? I make them up as I go, half the time. But if you can pick one I can do a pattern for you.

Have a fun filled woolly day everyone
hugs x

FLOWER FRENZY...

So many flowers to play with, they will cover joins and spaces in the blanket just so many options...
how things grow and change...
From original basic flower, too....
I have a several bags of flowers to play with from teeny tiny to huge multi layered blooms.
There are plenty to fill those awkward gaps.
The layout of the giant bed spread to come, not got the energy today to clear the craft table.

BBC FILMING YESTERDAY....
Had a lovely day yesterday at the craft centre. It was great to meet Barbara and her friends and to see her fantastic crochet....GOOD LUCK with the competition Barbara.
Looking forward to the programme, Barbara thought it will be in the Autumn some time.

JINNY RING CRAFT CENTRE BROMSGOVE, BBC filming today

A Flower..
or two...
for the giant bed spread hoping to clear my craft room table and lay out all the pieces I have so far tomorrow, to see what is needed and what I can use.

JINNY RING LINK HERE
Paul Martin is filming CRAFTS FOR TH BBC today, at the Jinny Ring Craft Centre,
so I am off to take a peek, an hour and a half from me but hoping to have a coffee and a chat with a fellow crocheter who has been invited to take part in the filming, she is carrying her big poppy bag so she said I wouldn't miss her lol

It all kicks off at 10 this morning so if you are in the area why not pop along and say hello

CROCHET WAVES AND CIRCLE TO ADD TO THE GIANT BEDSPRED...

Waves are 100% Merino from Colourmart and the circles are a mixture of Colinette yarns,
textured, ribbon, slubs and random dyes. Really love this colour combo.
with a couple of others thrown in

ALL THE BUCKETS OF YARN I HAVE AND I.....

....keep running out of one colour.
Managed to get this far with the latest woolly thought
and find I haven't got any more of the outer bright red.
I have far too much yarn to buy more, so now I will have to change colour....
a design accident or is it being creative?
I do it all the time, may be the reason for some of my colour choices.
One way of doing it I suppose.
Turned out a few circles and flowers,  many motif's that need joining together
did say i would join them all together in one giant bed spread?

How are the Mandalas going? Any more pictures for me to see yet?
Have fun x

Thanks to every one who took the time to add a question they all helped.
I read them all and have tried to incorporate some answers into the chapter but mostly they wanted drawings etc. with only a small amount of text.

I will be picking a winner out of a hat as they were all great questions and mailing the winner

A REQUEST FOR HELP PLEASE.

HELP NEEDED.....

You might or might not know I was asked to write a crochet book for beginners to intermediary in January this year. To be available early next year, really exciting but very daunting too.

It was all delivered to the publisher as set out in the contract for the end of July.

Late Friday I had a phone call from the lovely Editor dealing with my book, all good so far, but could I EXPAND a chapter.

I had thrown in a bit of me, something not asked for, something to make it 'mine' hoping it would be liked. I was trying to give the reader a little something that I don't think is in any other crochet book.

She thought it a great idea, really liked what I had done and wanted more
so
I am asking for your help please....

HERE IS THE QUESTION
IF YOU WANTED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT COLOUR, DESIGN & INSPIRATION,
WHAT QUESTIONS WOULD YOU WANT ANSWERED?
If you have a minute I would much appreciate your help.

Yesterday I had lots of ideas, too many to put in one chapter as it is such a
big subject, (I could write a whole book about it) so this morning I thought it a good idea to ask what it is you really what to know about C,D & I?
What would help you and if you have any questions that you would like answered?

There will be a couple of give away's for the best questions
so ask away. Thanks

Hugs to all xx

It's pouring here today :-((

Stylecraft DK was the same blue as the free wool....

So I finished the cushion front ready to stitch onto a cushion, there wasn't enough free wool to make a complete cushion
Just need to find the right cushion or fabric and make one.

MANDALA COLLAGE?....
How are you mandalas coming along?
Would love to do a collage of them all when you have finished them if you let me know with a link to your blogs, and will allow me to have a copy of your pictures please?

Have a fun filled Saturday all

A couple of you asked about the Diagonal Stripy Cushion....pattern link
An old pattern but it has been popular and is a real quick cushion to make

made in the round and folder around the cushion pad

Garden chair covers progress...slow, not even the seat area covered yet

Enjoy your day hugs to all x

August 6, 2012

Sorry going to split the Back pattern of MANDALA too...

Sorry life has got in the way of blogland I'm afraid and a ton of Chippings being delivered this morning is going to have to be shifted today, yes I wasn't happy with the extra charge so the terrier in me was determined to find the chippings from some where else.....took me all of 5 minutes to find from PJ Skips almost 10 miles away, and £20 cheaper, so the local company got cancelled
and here a bit of garden remodelling

So back to the Mandala Back Pattern PART 1.
Just the middle bit today
4mm Hook, Cotton-On yarn (in photo above but the cream for the tutorial photos in pure cotton)
and USA terms

Ch4, sl st, into a circle

Round 1: 12dc, into circle sl st to complete the round.
crochet over the end as you go.

Round 2: A clusters of  3tr in each sts, with 2 chain between each, sl st to complete round

TREBLE CLUSTERS:
2yarn over's and 2 pull throughs holding th stitches on the hook until you have done 3 then last pull though is through all 3 stitches to make the cluster then a ch to hold the cluster together

Notes to help:
so technically you are doing 3ch, between but 1ch, holds the cluster together and 2ch, gives the spacing
use sl sts, to move to the next starting space when working in one colour

Round 3: sl st to chain space,  4dc,  in each chain space. sl st to complete round

Round 4: 1dc in each of the next 4 stitch, then ch3, repeat in each of the 12 sections,
sl st to complete the round

Round 5: sl st, to middle of the 4dc of round 4 (as picture below),

then do 5dc in the chain loop anchor with a sl st in the centre of the next 4dc of round 4, repeat until round completed

Second half tomorrow but something to be
going on with at least.

Good to hear you like the Interlocking Block Stitch Bag, wasn't going to but I have been asked to do a tutorial on that too...thinking about it

Next tutorial (next week) will be on ends, changing colour, knots and finishing ends another request.

Have fun hugs to all x
